In recent years, the mammoth growth of multiple industries resulted in the immediate need for young and energetic professionals who could exploit their skills globally to promote exports. The quest for scientists became the very motive behind the establishment of Punjab College of Science Gujranwala.

This year, the academic performance of PCS is par-excellence. Almost 61 students joined different Medical Colleges and 58 students got admission in Engineering Universities of Pakistan. This year Shaleern David and Kashif Shahzad secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the BISE (Pre- Engg.). M. Zukhruf got 3rd position in Pre- Medical while Haseeb Shahid stood 2 nd in General Science Group. Maryam Shahid and Parvasheh Raza secured 2nd and 3rd position in I.C.S. Group.

In 2007 Punjab College Science Gujranwala is declared "The Best College" in Gujranwala by Inter Board Committee of Chairmen. Miss Riffat Aziz won the prize of car including Cash Prize of Rs.100,000 for securing the highest marks in Punjab. .
