Dear Students,

I extend a warm welcome to all young women joining the Punjab College For Women PCW, a premier women's college of Gujranwala Division to make a difference to the young women who not only acquire knowledge but begin to exercise wisdom and promote education for "Global Citizenship". It is our sincere effort to create the ambience for students to realize their hidden talent and vision. Our mission is to promote enduring knowledge with Pakistan as well as global roots and significance and create a constantly evolving academic environment where motivated students are challenged, inspired and impassioned to pursue advanced studies in the liberal arts, humanities and commerce. With a commitment to connecting the work of the college to the concerns of the world, PCW strives to develop in its students the capacity to think, lead and change the world.

Women need more power to control their lives, to meet their practical needs and to shape the world. To me, economic empowerment is of central concern. It is the economic empowerment of women which will make them independent and enable them to earn self esteem.

Violence against women emanates from their inherently subordinate gender status in contemporary society. Young women at Punjab College for Women are taught to have a balanced perspective on gender dynamics so that relationship between men and women is not competitive but complementary. The college has a Women's Development Centre and Women's Studies Resource Centre in the Library to provide data on women's studies.

We offer a highly competent and committed faculty of over 100 teachers & more than 3000 students. The college has a modern office complex, a well equipped computerized library of 10000 books and 100 journals. It also has an open air auditorium, equipped computer , Bio , Chemistry ,Physics Labs a well designed cafeteria, a large seminar hall, an airy staff room, separate department rooms, well ventilated class rooms and cheerful common room. The Bookshop& photocopy centre on its premises is of great convenience to the students.
